The Global Injustice: The Unreached

Right now, out of the world’s 8.08 billion people, 3.42 billion are still unreached — meaning they have no access to the gospel and no Christian witness in their community.

That’s 42.4% of humanity.

Because so many of these people live in difficult, isolated, or persecuted areas, they face both spiritual and physical need.
We focus on some of these frontline regions, especially in South Asia and Southern Mexico, where:

• 98% of UPGs in Asia have never heard the name of Jesus
• 90% of Mexico is not yet evangelical Christian
• In Chiapas, 67.4%–76.4% live in poverty
• Over 320 million people in Asia live in extreme poverty

But despite the need:

• Only 1% of mission giving
• And only 3% of missionaries

go to the unreached.

This is one of the greatest injustices in the world — and together, we can change it.

Why It’s So Difficult to Reach the Unreached

For centuries, the unreached have been separated from the gospel by barriers that are incredibly hard to cross:

• Persecution & political turmoil
• Poverty & famine
• Geographical isolation
• Lack of clean water, education, or medical care

These are the very places where people are suffering the most — and yet have the least access to the hope of Christ.

This is why we bring both practical help and spiritual hope to these communities, working with national leaders and local churches so the gospel can take root.

The Urgency of Pioneering New Frontiers

The Bible makes the urgency clear:

“How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?”
— Romans 10:14–15

People cannot believe if they never hear.

This is why Paul said:

“I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named…”
— Romans 15:20–21

This is our heart as well — to help people hear the name of Jesus for the very first time.

The Call to Partnership

Here’s the reality:

• Less than 1% of all mission giving goes to the unreached
• 77% of missionaries serve where the church already exists
• Only 3% go to the unreached

The people with the most urgent spiritual and physical needs are receiving the least support.

But together, we can change that.
