Have you ever wondered what to do after someone puts their faith in Christ?
Many Christians know how to invite someone to church, but fewer know how to help a new believer grow into a disciple who can disciple others.
That’s where simple Discovery Groups can help. The big idea is that you don’t have to preach, instead you can ask questions.

Disciple Making Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
Jesus didn’t tell us merely to make converts. He commanded us to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20).
One of the simplest ways to do that is by opening God’s Word, asking good questions, obeying what Jesus teaches, and sharing those truths with others.
In many parts of the world where I serve, especially in Southeast Asia, we often meet in homes rather than church buildings. Instead of preaching a sermon, we gather around a Bible story and ask simple questions such as:
- What does this teach us about God?
- What does this teach us about people?
- What did you like about the story?
- What did you find challenging?
- How will you obey what you learned?
- Who will you share this with?
These simple questions help people discover God’s truth for themselves and begin obeying it immediately.

Three Resources I Recommend
Here are three resources I regularly use to help believers make disciples.

1. Zúme Training
Zúme is one of the best free disciple-making and multiplication trainings available today. It provides practical tools and biblical principles for helping disciples multiply disciples.

2. WAHA App
The WAHA App contains Bible stories and Discovery Bible Study questions that make it easy to start spiritual conversations and simple disciple-making groups.
3. Discover App

The Discover App has been one of my favorite disciple-making tools for years. It provides Bible stories, discussion questions, and simple structures that help believers grow and multiply.

Come. Follow. Fish.
At God on Mission, we have developed our own simple Discovery Group format called:
Come. Follow. Fish.
Based on Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 4:19:
“Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
The format is designed to be simple, reproducible, and easy for ordinary believers to use.
Come
Love God and Love One Another
We gather, give thanks, share needs, pray, and encourage one another.
Follow
Follow Jesus Through His Word
We read a Bible story and discover what God is teaching us.
Fish
Make Disciples
We obey what we learn and share it with others.

Making an Eternal Impact
Disciple making is not about becoming a professional teacher or pastor.
It is about helping people follow Jesus, obey His Word, and pass it on to others.
When ordinary believers learn to do this, disciples make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples.
That is how movements begin.
God is on mission to reconcile all things to Himself through Jesus Christ, and He invites us to join Him as ambassadors of Christ.
Let’s make an eternal impact together.
