Share Your Story as an Ambassador of Christ

How Do You Join God’s Mission?
God is on mission to reconcile the world to Himself through Jesus Christ—and He invites us to be part of that mission.
So how do we join God’s mission?
First, we join personally through repentance, faith, and surrender to Christ. As new creations in Him, we begin seeking God first—through prayer, Scripture, and submission to His will.
Jesus taught us to pray:
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
— Matthew 6:10
But joining God’s mission doesn’t stop there.
As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in our identity as His ambassadors.
You Are Christ’s Ambassador
The Bible says:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation… We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17–20
An ambassador is a representative.
A spokesperson.
A co-worker with God in His ministry of reconciliation.
That means God is not merely calling us to attend church or gain more knowledge.
He calls us to represent Christ.
And one of the simplest and most powerful ways we do that is by sharing our personal testimony.
Even If You Don’t Know Everything… You Know Your Story
Many Christians hesitate to share their faith because they feel unprepared.
Maybe you wonder:
- What if I don’t know enough Scripture?
- What if someone asks a difficult question?
- What if I say the wrong thing?
But here is the good news:
You may not know every verse in the Bible yet…
But you do know what Jesus has done in your life.
And God often uses ordinary people and personal stories to open hearts to the Gospel.
Your testimony is unique.
No one else can tell your story the way you can.

My Story in Under Three Minutes
When I was young, I attended a traditional church.
One day, someone asked me a simple question:
“If you died today, would you go to heaven?”
I said yes.
Then he asked:
“Why?”
My answer sounded religious enough:
I’m a good person. I go to church. I don’t hurt anyone. I even read my Bible sometimes.
But he lovingly explained something I had never fully understood.
That was not enough.
I responded,
“But I’m doing everything I know to do”
That’s the problem. You can’t do it all because Jesus has already done everything for you.
Salvation is not earned by good works.
Jesus died on the cross so our sins could be forgiven.
He rose again to give eternal life.
And we are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ.
That day, I repented and surrendered my life to Jesus as Lord.
My life has not always been easy since then.
But it is different.
When I face problems, Jesus is with me.
That is my testimony.
A Simple 3-Part Framework for Sharing Your Testimony
Sharing your testimony does not need to be complicated.
In fact, keeping it simple usually makes it stronger.
Your testimony naturally fits into three parts:
1. What Was My Life Like Before I Met Christ?
Do not glorify sin or dwell on the past.
Simply explain:
- What your life revolved around
- Where you found identity or security
- What left you searching for more
2. How Did I Meet Christ?
This is the heart of your testimony.
Explain:
- How you first heard the Gospel
- What God used to draw you to Himself
- How you repented and trusted Christ
Remember:
Focus on a relationship with Jesus, not merely religious activity.
3. What Is My Life Like Now?
Life is not perfect.
Christians still struggle.
But Jesus changes us.
Share:
- Changes in your character or perspective
- New motivations and purpose
- How Christ helps you today
People need to hear not only what happened—
but what Christ is doing now.

Your Story Matters
God is still reconciling the world to Himself through Christ.
And He invites us to participate.
Your story matters.
Your obedience matters.
So pray.
Ask God to open doors.
Then go and share what Christ has done in your life.
You do not need to have it all together.
You simply need to be willing.
Go and make an eternal impact—as an ambassador of Christ.
