In my previous post and video , we looked at how few Christians are actively joining God’s mission.
But there’s another question we need to ask:
👉 What does our giving reveal about our priorities?
A Sobering Reality About Christian Giving
Here’s what the data shows:
- Only about 5% of Christians tithe
- The average Christian gives around 2.5% of their income
- And most sobering of all…
👉 Only about 1% of Christian giving goes to unreached peoples
That means the people who have never heard the Gospel—those still waiting—receive only a tiny fraction of what is given. Watch the video from more info:
What Jesus Said About Our Treasure
Jesus makes this very clear in Gospel of Matthew 6:21:
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Our giving is not just financial—it’s spiritual.
It reveals what we truly value.
The Gospel Is for “All People”
In Gospel of Luke 2:10, the angel declared:
“Good news of great joy that will be for all people.”
That word—all—changes everything.
It means:
- Not just us
- Not just our church
- Not just our country
👉 All people
Including those who have never heard the name of Jesus.
The Manger and the Mission
Christmas is not just about the arrival of Jesus.
It is about His mission.
The message of Christ was never meant to stay in one place—it was always meant to go to the ends of the earth.
Jesus Himself commanded us:
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Are We Investing in What Lasts?
If the Gospel is for all people…
Then our lives—and our giving—must reflect that.
We are not owners.
👉 We are stewards.
We are not spectators.
👉 We are ambassadors.
Go or Send
Not everyone is called to go across the world.
But every believer is called to be part of God’s mission.
That means:
- We either go
- Or we send
But none of us are called to do nothing.
A Simple Challenge
Take a moment and ask:
👉 What does my giving say about my priorities?
Are we investing in what is temporary…
Or what is eternal?

God is reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus Christ.
And He invites us to be part of that mission.
