I’m Greg, and my family and I have the awesome privilege of being co-laborers in God’s mission, serving on the foreign field. ?
If you’re like me, every new year you’ve probably asked, “What’s my purpose? What do You want me to do this year, God?”
I believe there’s a better question to ask. And if we ask it – and then obey what we hear – we’ll discover true fulfillment in life.
Our Story: Pioneering God’s Redemptive Mission
Our journey began back in 1989 when we responded to God’s call to declare His glory among the nations. We moved to Central Mexico and eventually served here in Chiapas, Mexico, after adopting our daughter, Cristi.
Though we later transitioned to Globe International’s headquarters in Florida as Directors of Disciple Making Multiplication, my heart never left the field.
That’s why, in July 2024, Ana and I sold or gave away nearly everything. We moved back into a humble building right here in Tuxtla Gutiérrez that now serves as both our home and our ministry base.
What we call “Our Mission”
We don’t just serve here in Chiapas; we’re also pioneering the Gospel and compassionate care to unreached peoples groups in hard-to-reach places in South Asia.
Questioning ‘Our Mission”
We often host visitors who are seeking to obey Christ’s Great Commission in another country. I’m reminded of a conversation with one visitor before his trip to Chiapas. He asked two thought-provoking questions that really resonated with me:
- “What will be the purpose of our visit?”
- “What do you want me to do?”
These questions led me to reflect deeply on what we often call “our own mission and purpose” as we serve God among the nations. ?
A Better Question: “God, What is YOUR Mission?”
Ever since we returned to live in Mexico, I’ve been sensing God leading us to ask a deeper question:
“God, what is Your mission and purpose?”
After studying His Word, I believe I finally understand…
God is on a mission to reconcile all things to Himself through Christ—and He invites us to join Him in that mission.
Our Role in God’s Mission
We are truly privileged to be a part of God’s grand mission!
So, let’s ask ourselves:
“God, what are You doing? And how can I join You?”
As we seek to answer these questions, we’ll discover new opportunities to serve, new ways to connect with people, and new depths in our own faith. And there are even more great benefits… We will:
- have a greater (eternal) impact
- find purpose
- become truly fulfilled
- and make a real difference in the world.
